About

Healthy Movement Healthcare was established in 2017 by Xavier Paredes. A local who grew up in the surrounding areas of Dandenong, and one who understands and is pleased to be working among a range of many different cultures delivering the same message of getting the community moving. Located within the extremely popular Dandenong Oasis, Healthy Movement Healthcare has its own private clinic loaded with specialised equipment, as well as providing patient access to hydrotherapy, the commercial gym and circuit rooms for groups.

An experienced therapist and access to a range of exercise treatments make Healthy Movement Healthcare unique and the prime location for Exercise Physiology in Dandenong and surrounding suburbs.

Meet Xavier

Xavier is the founder and Exercise Physiologist at Healthy Movement Healthcare. He completed his Master’s Degree at Australian Catholic University and Bachelor’s Degree at Victoria University. During his time studying, he completed clinical placements at major Victorian hospitals, specialist clinics in spinal cord injury and sports rehabilitation. He was also fortunate to work at his beloved Western Bulldogs Football Club as a Strength and Conditioning cadet. Combined with numerous years as a Personal Trainer in Melbourne’s CBD, Xavier brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with exercise prescription to Dandenong and the surrounding South Eastern suburbs.

His approach to exercise is known by local medical specialists and patients to be simple yet effective. He places a high priority on patient education and the benefits, through exercise, that is available to each individual person. He understands that many people he sees have an apprehension to exercise for a multitude of reasons and enjoys the process of successfully seeing them through to a new and heathier lifestyle.

Xavier has recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Management and Health Care and is working towards his accreditation as a Credentialed Diabetes Educator. He is looking forward to bringing this service to Healthy Movement as exercise is well known to be an effective form of treatment and prevention of Type 2 Diabetes.

Outside of work he enjoys walking the fairways (and through trees) playing golf, regular cardiovascular and strength exercise and spending time with his family. For him, being active is essential not only for physical health, but to keep social and to continue doing activities he enjoys doing for as long as possible. He very much looks forward to meeting new patients and to help create lifestyle modifications for their individual needs and goals.
